Durability
The Medium Glide is a tripod made entirely of steel and aluminum, designed for durability and strength for years to come. All the clamps and their knobs, leg link, center column break mechanism and caster suspension are metal.
Stability
The Medium Glide is a heavy tripod weighing more than 16 kg, built from large-section steel tubes. Its legs are made of 25 x 25 mm closed sections, which, combined with casters, give a base with a span of 120 cm. All this, combined with aluminum connectors and clamps, makes the Medium Glide a tripod characterized by very high stability.
Load capacity
The tripod's center column is capable of supporting loads of up to 20 kg. Such a huge load capacity allows you to work freely even with the largest softboxes and umbrellas. In a situation where you need to illuminate a photo set from above, using a lamp with a softbox with a diameter of 120 cm (or larger), the GlareOne Medium Glide will be the best choice.
Boom
The Medium Glide is equipped with a central column breaking mechanism, which makes it a 2-in-1 tripod. When the central column works vertically, it reaches a maximum height of 400 cm. On the other hand, when you use its breaking mechanism, the Medium Glide transforms into a boom (crane) with a very high lifting capacity. This type of tripod should be hosted in every photo and film studio, as it allows you to safely position the lamp above the set for overhead lighting. The crane is also useful when the lamp needs to be hung above the camera or camcorder which can be awkward or even impossible with an ordinary tripod.
Mountain leg
The length of one of the legs is adjustable, and this makes it possible to set it up in places where ordinary tripods would not be able to stand safely. The so-called "mountain leg" mechanism makes it easy to place the Medium Glide on sloping ground and level it properly, which positively affects the safety of work on set.
Head
The Medium Glide is topped with an aluminum head equipped with a 16mm mandrel socket for direct lamp mounting. The mandrel can be detached or attached perpendicular to the head axis. To ensure that the lamp mounted on the tripod does not rotate during operation, the mandrel is properly shaped. The bolt that locks the position of the mandrel can be placed on two sides of the head.
Details
Almost all the connections in the tripod are made with screws, not rivets, which are most commonly used in cheaper tripods. The Medium Glide comes with a wrench, which is needed to fix the wheels. The arm tilt mechanism is equipped with a large handle, which guarantees a firm grip, so important for safe work. The other end of the arm is provided with a loop for hanging the counterweight. The casters have a large diameter (10 cm) and are equipped with brakes. All sections of the tripod are cushioned by springs.

* The maximum load capacity of the tripod is indicated for the center column. A tripod in a boom arrangement will have a much lower load capacity, which is affected by, among other things, the use of counterweights, the position of the center of gravity of the attached lamp or accessories, etc. It is not possible to reliably indicate the maximum load capacity of the arm. |
